It's fall time here in Florida and that means Roselle is popping up everywhere. Roselle is a hibiscus plant also known as Jamaican Sorrel, Caribbean Sorrel, Florida Cranberry, or Hibiscus. This beautiful plant is high in nutrients and a powerful antioxidant as well as has been used medicinally for decades, especially in the Carribean. It has a fruity sourness and is traditionally served in a Carribean Holiday drink. Add this highly nutritious and antioxidant rich ingredient to our traditionally made classic tonic and you have a real nutritional powerhouse in your glass.
Fill glass with ice and add tonic and tea. Top with club soda, stir and enjoy!
To make hibiscus tea:
Add about 1 cup of roselle to about 4 cups of water. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove from heat, strain out roselle, and add 3-4 tbsp of coconut sugar to taste.
Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
